Singapore : Touchdown

Don't you just love my pink bag?
It's finally D-Day!!!

Travelling from Mactan International Airport in Cebu at 7:55 pm, we arrived at Changi International Airport at 11:35 pm. But it seemed a little longer. It was my friend's first time to travel overseas so there was a little hitch-up in the immigration part of the trip, but "all's well that ends well."

On a side note: Changi airport was a behemoth of a place. I've read so many good things about it that it actually was part of the list of places I wanted to see in Singapore. Anyways, back to my narration...

Now, I was a bit anxious about getting there that late because it was our first time in Singapore, I had no idea what to expect but all the anxiety was unnecessary. We took a taxi from the airport to Beach Rd which cost around S$32, the hostel was very easy to locate (with the help of the GPS the cab driver had) and the first thing we got to see of the city were all the lights... and it was beautiful. Once we checked-in and settled all our things in
the lockers, we ended up going back out to look for some sustenance... we were both really hungry. It was 1:30 am, we were walking around unfamiliar streets, and the wonderful thing about it was that, not once did we feel like we were threatened or that there were people lurking in corners. Singapore is such a SAFE place. I mean that like seriously... Out of all the countries I've ever been to so far, #1 in SAFETY would be Singapore. Anyways, after walking about 3 blocks down the road of closed restos and cafes we ended up in a 7Eleven store at the corner, got some bread and water, went back to our rooms and got ready for bed.
MRT Maps and our survival guide

While Yeng (the friend with me) was happily snoozing, I was reviewing all the places we'll be visiting the next day, mostly I was looking for the nearest MRT Stations. Lights out was officially at 2:30 AM.

Review:
No need to worry about late arrivals in Singapore seeing as it such a safe place to be and unlike TAXIs in the Philippines, being a local or a foreigner makes no difference there...

The MAPs helped a lot.

I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE our hostel...

I usually can't sleep in new places on the first night... I slept like a rock.

Note:
I know this post took so long to be posted and I greatly apologize for that, I promise to write as soon as I can...

Till next time honey beez!
